Project purpose
The creation of an architectural object is transportable and adaptable to the center of Marseilles bauhaus lab project. The aim is to redevelop an area along a reinterpretation of the principles of the Bauhaus: using simple geometric forms, dominated the feature, use of industrial materials, transparency, primary colors. The physical constraints of the project

Primary Room Now
The Wasteland La Belle de Mai provides the room "Now." This space was designed as a non-closed, opened to traffic, dealing with ephemeral events. The maximum area devoted to the project is 400 m2, its main feature is a column-beam frame 7m portée.Le proposed project will take into account this structure without considering it as a fixture or decisive one, since before be reconstructed in different sites.
Actors
During the time of residence (3 weeks), ten European artists from various artistic fields - video, performance, sound, picture - working within the structure. Conferences open to the public as well as multimedia workshops for children will take place during the same period. During the exposure period (2 weeks), the structure will host the works created by artists.
Budget The project budget is 40,000 euros, 10,000 euros provided as optional. Participants must submit a budget to manage this through a DPGF (decomposition of the overall price) distinguishing clearly these two amounts. Jury
Architects Matthew Poitevin and Rémy Marciano, professors at the Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Architecture de Marseille, Thierry Ollat director of the Contemporary Art Museum of the City of Marseille, Patrick Bardou Editions Parentheses and a member of Patrons of south form the jury of the contest. The top seven projects selected by the jury will be exhibited in Weimar Germany and then in Marseille in 2009. A publication distributed at the European level is also planned. The winning project will be completed and presented during the demonstration bauhaus lab marseille, parallel to the contemporary art fair Art-o-Rama in the precincts of the Wasteland La Belle de Mai in Marseille. The structure later became the winner an ephemeral cultural center in Weimar Germany, then in other European cities. Documentation work from design to construction will be posted on the platform in partnership with innovative bauhaus.tv ikono.tv.

The contest is open to artists, architects, designers, and designers Euro-Mediterranean. The criteria for technical feasibility and insurance are essential to the project. We encourage strongly interdisciplinary collaborations.

Opening Contest February 9, 2009. Participants must be returned by mail with acknowledgment of receipt signed registration form and the documents requested. The period for receipt of these documents is scheduled for April 1 to 15, 2009 at midnight. The results will be announced no later than April 30, 2009.
